Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Dunes
The tour will start at 07h30 AM with a pick up from your hotel / Riad. We will depart for Ouarzazate passing through the Atlas Mountains over the Tichka Pass where there are beautiful views to see. After having lunch and exploring Ouarzazate we will Continue driving to Zagora crossing the Draa river which has given life to a huge oasis spreading for about 200 Km at the foothill of the anti-Atlas Mountains. You will see several palmeraies on the way dotted with fields of corn, barley, Vegetables and henna plantations. Dinner and Overnight stay will be in hotel.
Zagora -Tamegroute – Mhamid– Erg Chigaga
On the second day, after breakfast we will drive to M’hamid passing by the village of Tamagroute where you will have the opportunity to visit the oldest Quranic libraries in Morocco, the underground Kasbah and the pottery factory. After having lunch in M’hamid, we will cross different features of desert such as ‘Erg’, ‘Reg’, ‘Hammada’ and oases to reach Erg Chigaga dunes where you will Ride camels to go to the camp. You will have dinner, enjoy the local music with the local nomads and spend the second night in Sahara Desert camp.
Chigaga Dunes – Iriki Lake – Foumzguid – Tazenakht – Ait Benhaddou
In the morning, after having breakfast we will return back passing by the natural dried lake of Iriki that was full of water 30 years ago and crossing the small town of Foum-Zguid which is a quiet Berber town to reach Tazenakht. It is the one of the biggest centers of carpets in the kingdom and it was a former trading post for this large region. Afterwards, we will continue driving to the Universal heritage of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is a fortified village of the 11th century and it is where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Benhaddou – Telouet- Tichka Pass – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will drive to the Kasbah of Telouet that was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power who was given political power of Morocco south of High Atlas Mountains by the King Moulay Hassan. The palace can still be visited by tourists but it is steadily becoming more damaged. Finally, we will have lunch in the Pass of Tichka to return back later to Marrakech.
